Amelia Harnas creates these delicate portraits using a combination of embroidery and wine stains. A waste of wine some might say but as i don’t like wine and the fact it only brings out the bad in me i can’t think of anything better to do with the stuff. From her website :
These portraits are created either by using a wax resist (much like batiks) and repeated wine stains with embroidery as a reinforcing drawing over the original design or wine on paper with machine sewing. These are my first experiments using wine, and I am excited to continue expanding upon these first results.

I’m not really sure what to say about this one apart from the fact that the cat has to be the laziest creature i have ever seen. Fact!!

Now this is very cool, Molson Canadian beer has created ‘plantable Coasters’ that will grow into trees in a recent campaign to be more eco-friendly. The coastres included in special packs will grow into Black Spruce trees when planted and watered. i like the idea of guerilla gardening at the best of times but with these puppies i’d be able to get drunk at the same time. WIN WIN in my opinion!!

I have actually seen a hummingbird in the wild thinking it was actually a bee or some other such winged insect. It was zipping around all over the place and totally mesmerising. Check out this albino Hummingbird though! Isn’t it gorgeous? The photo was taken by Fifteen-year-old Marlin Shank who took lots of lovely photographs of this rare white ruby-throated Hummingbird he saw at a park in Staunton, Virginia.
On another note here is a picture of a man smuggling Hummingbirds in his pants:

Considering the guy looks like he’s already up pretty high i’m going to put this one down to going hand-gliding with a hangover. I also like the fact that the instructor is polite enough not to say anything. Idiot youth indeed!!

Get that London look! There’s nothing quite like mocking troubled celebrities. It just makes me feel warm inside. I just wonder how long it will be before we see products such as this on the shelves? Surely it’s not going to be too long before we have the Kate Moss Autograph Collection available to purchase for all those of legal age. And don’t forget this imported Bolivian flake is of course, fair trade! All the more reason to purchase…
