Japan plans to create a solar plant on the Moon

Japan’s Shimizu Corporation has designed a concept solar plant for the moon called the Luna Ring. The idea is to build a ‘solar belt’ around the moon expanding 6,800 miles, which will beam electricity back to Earth via microwaves and lasers, which will then be received back on earth by special stations where the power can be used. I’d love to see it built but i’m pretty sure it won’t, shame.
