Now this is an excellent idea, an existing road bridge that they want to turn into a eco-friendly power source. They want to achieve this by adding wind turbines underneath the bridge and turning the tarmac road surface into solar panels. Due to the bridges height and location gusts of wind come up the valley which could realistically power the turbines, also due to its location in Italy the solar panels would be able to generate enough solar energy. The solar panels could produce as much as 11.2 kWh per year and the innovative bridge could power up to 15,000 homes.
All in all a pretty cool idea.
